Nutty Brussels Sprouts

The ingredients to cook Nutty Brussels sprouts are as follows:

3 tablespoons sherry vinegar
3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
3 cups Brussels sprouts
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon minced shallots
1/3 cup walnut oil
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper

Preparation of Nutty Brussels sprouts:

The damaged leaves off the Brussels sprouts and the stem ends are to be trimmed. Then, a form of 'X' is cut in the bottom of each sprout. After that, steam the sprouts in a vegetable steamer until crisp-tender.

Then, in a medium mixing bowl the vinegar, maple syrup, shallots and mustard are combined together. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Whisk in the oil in a slow, steady stream until emulsified. Then, add salt and pepper, to taste. When the Brussels sprouts are steamed, you have to toss with the vinaigrette and walnuts and serve immediately.

Some use maple syrup instead of honey. There are many, who substitute sunflower oil for walnut. Besides, some also use olive oil to cook the dish, instead of walnut oil. That is okay for the Nutty Brussels sprouts recipe.
